SMEL'S SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE IS A REFLECTION OF FUN AND EXCITING MOMENTS. EVERY CAMPER IS ENGAGED AND MOTIVATED TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
Our summer camp program is so fun! Summer Camp enrollment opens the first week in January. SMEL's eight-week program is designed to get campers thinking about business ownership. The program provides campers with a multifaceted, holistic education on Finances, Operations, Human Resources, and Marketing. Each week campers will explore one component through literature, business simulations, and hands-on experiences.
Campers use four weeks to brainstorm, research, and plan their approach to establishing a profitable business. At the end of camp all campers, present at SMEL's 'Think Tank Challenge.' The camper with the best idea presentation receives $100 towards their business start-up to develop and implement.
In addition to exploring Entrepreneurship, campers enjoy fun trips and themed activities which include a visit to Statue of Liberty, indoor and outdoor amusement parks, museums, and other attractions.

THE OUTCOME
Campers learn how to count, exchange, and earn money! We noticed that students do not understand the importance of receiving the correct change after the purchase of an item. So, based on the design of our program, we correct that, by introducing financial literacy and stimulate their minds to make smarter and wiser financial decisions.
