Stimulating Minds through Entrepreneurship and Leadership also known as SMEL was founded by Kern Alcindor in 2018 after noticing a need to educate children, adults, and the community on the importance of enterprise and equity ownership. Kern learned the hard way that money did not grow on trees. As his interests grew, he realized that more money was needed. His love for fast-powered automobiles and motorcycles led to, two major entrepreneurial investments.
After completing his Master's of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship in 2017, he decided to combine his love for children and business to introduce an Entrepreneurship Enrichment Program. Kern has supported over 10 public schools, 1,500 + students, and many communities bridge the gap to economic freedom through entrepreneurship and financial literacy empowerment workshops.
